Douglas Healy earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Liberty University and his juris doctor from the University of Arkansas in 2000, graduating as the youngest attorney in his cohort.

He began his legal career at Duncan & Pierce, then served two years as a senior assistant prosecuting attorney for the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in Springfield, Missouri. He later spent two years as the chairman's advisor at the Missouri Public Service Commission, reviewing legal matters and regulatory policy.

Since 2006, Douglas has operated Healy Law Offices, LLC, a boutique Midwest energy-law firm. He represents clients including Magnitude 7 Metals, National Steel of America, and CenturyTel in complex state and federal litigation matters.
